The province of Cagayan is filled with a rich history and abundant resources that the more we unravel, the more they give us a stronger sense of pride, belongingness and love for our province. What is our task, then, as Cagayanos? How do we preserve our history and environment while also addressing the gaps in development?
In this age, development alone is not enough – it has to be sustainable. The Provincial Government has set forth the Cagayan Development Agenda (CAGANDA) 2025 wherein our neighboring countries like China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan are treated as indispensable partners for sustainable people-centered economic development.
Cagayan is the perfect gateway to various opportunities in the international economic arena and with CAGANDA 2025 in place, we are now on our way to becoming a part of the international trading and investment scene, with the reopening and development of the Cagayan International Seaport and Heavy Industries in Aparri, the Cagayan International Airport in Piat and Smart City in Tuao, and the railway system connecting the two ports.
Given the direction the Provincial Government has set for our beloved Province of Cagayan, it is my earnest desire as the Father of this Province, for our people to have ownership of our development plans, so that as one community we could build a bright future for ourselves and generations of Cagayanos to come, here in Cagayan.
