The Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in Laoag City welcomed the delegation of the Provincial Government of Cagayan led by the Honorable Governor Manuel Mamba and the Head of Post and Consul, Ren Faqiang for the celebration of Chinese Spring Festival last February 4, 2023, at the Fort Ilocandia Hotel Resort, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
The Hon. Governor Mamba and the Head of Post and Consul, Ren Faquiang, gathered together with Atty. Ma. Rosario Mamba-Villaflor, Provincial Administrator and Concurrent Chief of Staff, Hon. Rodrigo De Asis, 3rd District Board Member, Hon. Harry Florida, Mayor of Allacapan, Atty. Roger Paz, Legal Council of the Local Government Unit of Allacapan, Dr. Pearlita Mabasa, Head of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, En.P. Jennifer Junio-Baquiran, Office-In-Charge of the Provincial Tourism Office, Mr. Rogie Sending, Provincial Information Office (PIO) Chief, En.P Rolando Calabazaron of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), and Mr. Tomas Pastor, Executive Assistant, Provincial Tourism Office.
During the meeting, the Head of Post and Consul, Ren Faqiang shared a warm message as he reiterated the good relationship of Chinese with the local government and Filipino-Chinese community, and wished for more partnerships with China and for the development of Cagayan.
The Hon. Governor Manuel Mamba also discussed the proposed Cagayan International Gateway Project in which a heavy industrial port in Aparri and international airport in Piat will be built. These will create opportunities for trade and agri-tourism and the possible benchmarking in China for best practices and tourism market development.
