The Callao Cave Eco-tourism Zone is now open to the public!

Great news, mga kalakbays! The Callao Cave Eco-tourism Zone is now open to the public.
 
The reopening was celebrated with a mass and a short program.
 
Governor Manuel Mamba led the ceremony with Gwendolyn Bambalan, Regional Executive Director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region II, and Marilyn Taguinod, Vice Mayor of Peñablanca.
 
Other guests who attended the event were Rodrigo de Asis, 3rd District Board Member, Atty. Maria Rosario Mamba-Villaflor, Provincial Administrator, EnP. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran, OIC-Tourism Officer of Cagayan, Atty. Leonard Beltran, OIC-PNREO, PCol. Julio Gorospe, Provincial Director of Cagayan Provincial Police Office, Enrique Pasion, OIC-PENR Officer, members of the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), representatives from various government agencies, Sangguniang Bayan Members and Barangay Officials of Peñablanca, Police and Military Forces, department heads and consultants from the Provincial Government of Cagayan, tour guides, boat operators, friends from the media, other stakeholders, and visitors.
 
The theme surrounding the re-opening revolved around abundance.
 
Cagayan is blessed with abundant natural resources and ensuring their conservation and protection guarantees the sustainability of the tourism industry in the province. The Governor urged everyone to take part in protecting our environment for future generations to come.
