The Cagayan Tourism Office conducted the first Community Guides Training participated by the municipalities of Aparri, Camalaniugan, Lallo, Alcala, Amulung, Iguig, Santa Teresita, Tuguegarao, Peñablanca, Tuao and Rizal. The training was conducted last May 10-16, 2022 at Ivory Hotel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and produced 29 graduates which will soon be DOT-Accredited Tour Guides.

The week-long training conducted by the Cagayan Tourism Office through its head, En.P. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran, aims to set quality standards and professionalize tour guiding services in the province.
Mr. Romano del Rosario, DOT-Accredited Resource Speaker and Trainer from Bulacan shared his expertise on Tour Guiding. His specialization covers from tour guiding profession, tour operations management and training people for effectiveness. He is currently the Vice President for Luzon of the Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guide Associations Inc. or TGFED. Last 2019, he made a history in the Philippine Tour Guiding industry as the very first Filipino to be elected as a member of the Executive Board of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations or WFTGA.

Mr. Kevin Niño Baclig, museum curator of Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center discussed the Local History of Cagayan Province. Flora and Fauna was also discussed by Forester Ricardo Antonino of DENR Region 02. The participants has also undergone the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence training by Ms. Gretchen Jallorina, DOT- accredited resource speaker. On the last day of the training, Mr. Romeo Caranguian of DOT Region 2 discussed the topic on Child Safe Tourism. The Regional Director of Department of Tourism, Director Fanibeth T. Domingo, was also present during the said activity and had presented the Regional Tourism Situationer.

The participants applied their learnings through a mock tour on the Heritage Zone of Tuguegarao.
