Story Writing Contest: Ubag the Legendary Boy in Callao Cave Awarding Program | Launching of Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center Technology | Unveiling of the Munting Aklatan ng Bayan

The Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center (CPLRC) just concluded the Story Writing Contest Awarding Program, launching of CPLRC technology, and the display of the Munting Aklatan ng Bayan today, March 9, 2023, at the Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center Building, Caritan Sur, Tuguegarao City.
The program was participated by Atty. Ma. Rosario Mamba-Villaflor, Provincial Administrator and Concurrent Chief of Staff, Mr. Michael Pinto, Provincial Librarian, En.P. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran, Head of the Cagayan Tourism Office, Mr. Kevin Niño Baclig, Cagayan Museum Curator, Ms. Sally Vitug, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer, Mr. Harley Pastor, Municipal Librarian of Baggao, Ms. Maria Milagros Dela Cruz, Chief of Operations – CPLRC, Ms. Maria Cristina Malana, Project Chair – CPLRC, Mr. Alfred Iringan, Readers Services Head – CPLRC, Mr. Dan Alfred Abaya, Technical Services Head – CPLRC, CPLRC Team, public and student librarians, and the students of Cagayan State University Carig Campus and Saint Joseph’s College of Baggao.
The program started with Ms. Maria Cristina Malana, Project Chair of CPLRC, thanking those who supported the program including the participants who joined the story writing contest for contributing to Cagayan’s thriving culture and arts.
Mr. Ralph Angelo Pascual, Admin Aide Clerk of CPLRC, acknowledged the Honorable Governor Manuel Mamba for his unending support of the activities and projects of CPLRC, and the presence of the guests.
During his speech, Mr. Michael Pinto, Provincial Librarian, stated these key points for successfully operating a library: know your library, display your library, active online/social media presence for everybody’s references, and encourage private sectors for collaboration and partnership. He also reiterated to continue to innovate and dream of a functional and oriented public library.
Mr. Kevin Niño Baclig, Cagayan Museum Curator, expressed his intentions as the renaissance of literacy, culture, and arts are flourishing on a higher level in Cagayan. He also highlighted that literacy speaks of the quality of life in the province through the Governor’s full commitment and support.
Our beloved Governor Manuel Mamba, represented by Atty. Charo Mamba-Villaflor, Provincial Administrator, delivered her message as she acknowledged the Governor’s vision that makes this event possible. She enlightened the participants to uplift the quality of life of every Cagayano and to empower everyone so we can continue the vision of our beloved Governor. She also underscored the importance of not quitting in pursuing such dreams just as much as the Governor does not give up his dreams for Cagayan.
En.P. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran, Head of the Cagayan Tourism Office, expressed her appreciation as she received the Munting Aklatan ng Bayan which serves as another achievement in the tourism industry. The Munting Aklatan ng Bayan will be displayed at the Visitor’s Pavilion in Nassiping, Lal-lo, and Ballesteros. She inspired everyone to help and enjoy all the services of the Provincial Government of Cagayan that empower the development of the province. She also congratulated the winners, CPLRC team, and the Governor who made the event possible.
Moreover, Mr. Dan Alfred Abaya, Technical Services Head, shared his brief story about the old CPLRC, and how grateful he is for the innovation of the new CPLRC technology through the priceless service of our beloved Governor.
After the awarding program, the opening of the new CPLRC technology, and the unveiling of the Munting Aklatan ng Bayan, Ms. Maria Milagros Dela Cruz, Chief of Operations – CPLRC, wrapped up the program by expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the guests, participants, and to the unwavering commitment and support of our beloved Governor Manuel Mamba.
This program aims to build more cultural contributions in literacy, arts, and culture for a prosperous Cagayan.
