The Provincial Government of Cagayan through the Cagayan Tourism Office recently held the first general meeting of the Cagayan Tourism Officers Association for 2024. The meeting began with a welcome address from EnP. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran who highlighted the importance of tourism, and the need for collaboration among tourism officers to promote local attractions, and innovate things for the betterment of the tourism industry in the province. Ms. Sally Vitug, the Supervising Tourism Operations Officer, also talked about the upcoming activities of the Cagayan Tourism Office and the importance of statistics in the operations of the tourism sector. Ms. Honey Carmona, Planning Officer III, underscored the impact of planning ahead in developing and improving tourism in Cagayan.
The Local Chief Executive of Rizal, Mayor Joel Ruma, graced the event with Vice Mayor Brenda Ruma, with messages of appreciation and encouragement to further collaborative work amongst tourism workers.
The meeting concluded with an election of a new set of officers for 2024-2026.

For the second part of the assembly, the Municipal Tourism Office of Rizal led by Mr. John Frey Bauag, showcased their select tourism attractions. The Tourism Officers of the Province were treated to a cultural show and exciting nature adventure through zip bikes, cable car rides, trekking, and swimming to name a few.
In Cagayan, there is premium in inclusivity and partnership to ensure that each city and municipality thrive in reaching the goal to become one of the country’s preferred destinations.
