#CagayanTouREADsm | 3rd Malaga and Guraman Festival

Today the residents and guests in Buguey, Cagayan grilled two tons or 2,000 kilos of Malaga fish in the celebration of the 3rd Malaga and Guraman Festival 2024. They also showcased the different ways of preparing and cooking Malaga.

According to Buguey Mayor Licerio Millare Antiporda III, this year’s theme is “Malaga ken Guraman Kangrunaan a pagbiagan ken pakadayawan, sangsangkamaysa nga iwanan.”

He said that in the three years that such a festival has been celebrated, one of its effects is the existence of “food security”, increased food tourism promotion, and economic activity in their town because many people migrate there. The mayor also explained that the Malaga and Guraman Festival is celebrated in July because it is the month of the harvest season.
