Cagayan Community Guides Association joined the first-ever Philippine Tour Guide’s Hybrid Conference

About 34 tour guides association including the Cagayan Community Guides Association (CCGA) joined the first-ever Philippine Tour Guide’s Hybrid Conference held at the Seda Atria, Iloilo City on February 19-22, 2023. The conference was organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) in partnership with the Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guides, Inc. (TGFed).
Ms. Shayne Naree Beltran, President of the Cagayan Community Guides, represented the province with the other 280 DOT-accredited regional and community tour guides all over the country.
This year, Philippine Tour Guides’ Hybrid Conference 2023 aims to foster the importance of restarting the tourism sector, understand the trends and Philippine tourism market portfolios plus newly developed tourism circuits through panel discussions, technical workshops, and inter-track synthesis sessions.
The 4-day program in which participants have immersed in various learning sessions led by industry experts and explore topics such as “Retooling and Upskilling in Regenerating the Tour Guiding Profession”, “Selling to Sharing: How to Tell Great Stories on Tour”, and “Understanding Sustainable and Responsible Tourism in the Context of Tour Guiding”. Immersion activities and site visits in selected tourism destinations were also included in the program to provide the participants with a better understanding and appreciation of our country’s rich history and cultural heritage.
