Bastion of Faith Tourism Circuit Readiness Assessment

The Department of Tourism – Region II in collaboration with the Cagayan Tourism Office, conducted a run through of the TRiP Tourism Circuit (Southwestern Cagayan). Dubbed as the “Bastion of Faith”, it underwent Readiness Assessment last February 9-10, 2023. The circuit includes the municipalities of Tuao, Rizal, and Piat.
Ms. Lelia Blancaflor and Mr. Romeo Caranguian of DO2-R2 led the readiness assessment with the Cagayan Tourism Office staff, Mr. Joshua Flores, Mr. Norway Saludares, and Ms. Shayne Naree Beltran.
The activity was participated by Ms. Cheenee Joy Nadal, Municipal Tourism Officer of Tuao, Mr. John Frey Bauag, Municipal Tourism Officer of Rizal, Mr. Benedict Sto. Tomas, Municipal Tourism Officer of Piat, and Ms. Gina Adducul, Municipal Tourism Officer of Tuguegarao City. The city served as the entry and exit point of the said circuit.
The assessment was done to validate whether the circuit, attractions, and its stakeholders are ready to cater tourists. The purpose was also identify the next steps moving forward.
The activity showcased the unique culture and heritage of Southwest Cagayan.
The circuit is composed of pilgrimage, culture and heritage, farm tourism, and ecotourism which shows that really in Cagayan, there is an Endless Fun!
