TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — The Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center (CMHRC) has presented its recent programs and accomplishments before the delegation of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-Region 6 (Western Visayas) in a meeting held at the NEDA-Region 2 on February 27, 2025..

Niño Kevin D. Baclig, CMHRC Curator, highlighted the Museum’s role as the steward of Cagayan’s rich tangible and intangible heritage, while putting a strong emphasis on its role as a cultural hub of the province.

The NEDA-6 delegates met with their Cagayan Valley counterparts and relevant institutions to establish a benchmark for their cultural and arts programs in the Western Visayas Region.The said delegation also toured the Museum to experience its facilities and learn more about its services and programs, as well as Cagayano heritage.

In October last year, the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center (CMHRC) was awarded 1st Runner-up for Best Institutionalized Culture and Arts Program (Provincial Level) nationwide at the 2024 Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) Pearl Awards, held in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
