The Joint Meeting of the Cagayan Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) and the Provincial Small and Medium Enterprises Development Council (PSMEDC) marked a significant step forward in aligning the province’s tourism and economic development strategies. Held on December 10, 2024, at the Governor’s Conference Hall in Tuguegarao City, the meeting was chaired by Atty. Maria Rosario Mamba-Villaflor, representing Governor Manuel Mamba. Key figures such as EnP. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran, Provincial Tourism Officer; Troy Alexander Miano, Department of Tourism Region 02 Director; and Lourdino Antonio, Provincial Director of the Cagayan Department of Trade and Industry, were present to spearhead discussions.

The primary agenda focused on presenting two pivotal Executive Orders outlining the roles and responsibilities of the PTC and PSMEDC, alongside celebrating recent accomplishments, including the DTI Presidential Awards and the prestigious ATOP Pearl Awards. A highlight was the unveiling of the Cagayan Tourism Development Plan for 2025-2035, which aims to harness the province’s potential by building on the 20% rise in tourist arrivals achieved in recent years.

Governor Mamba’s administration has prioritized tourism enhancement since 2016, initiating infrastructure projects to bolster various tourism sites. EnP. Jenifer Junio-Baquiran conveyed Gov. Mamba’s optimism and commitment to leveraging these developments to foster sustainable growth and boost the local economy.
